Finally bought mine. So far I've only read the first two stories, the Batman story and the Detective 225 origin story.

The Batman story appears to be reproduced from film. DC's film library goes all the way back to 1953? Does anyone know when they began saving saving stuff on film?

The art credit says that Kane did finished pencils for the Batman and Robin figures. I've never heard this before. If this is a claim Kane made in an interview, and no one else has verified it, I'll take it for what it's worth.

Certa has an amiable if not exciting visual style. Know one will accuse these stories of redefining the comics medium but at least they're easy on the eyes.

Flipping through the book, I notice that as the stories become more superheroey and J'onn's Martian Manhunter role becomes more prominent, that MM's appearance becomes more human. I assume this was supposed to make him more likeable. Anybody know when he reverted to the more menacing aspect, with the hooded brow and shadow-covered eyes, depicted in Detective 225?
