However, I can't help but wonder what this 'reshaping' could mean?

To me, a possible candidate is how to reshape the current SUPERMAN and BATMAN lines which consist of a large bulk of high-quality, fondly-remembered material from several decades and ... with the current packaging strategy and pace of release ... will NEVER get done ... and consequently, doesn't sell well.

A possible solution:
THE COMPLETE SUPERMAN ARCHIVES: 1952
THE COMPLETE BATMAN ARCHIVES: 1970
THE COMPLETE SUPERMAN ARCHIVES: 1968
THE COMPLETE BATMAN ARCHIVES: 1955
Charge $99 per volume and put in interesting DVD-like extras (commentary, pictures that reflect the character, the times and the audience from that year).

Two releases for each character per year ... then this suddenly becomes a more exciting 15-20 year project with a definite chance of completion.
