The Marvel Supreme Editions: the greatest hardcover series that never was!
Is that vain hope, or was there ever a suggestion..? (Or other-publisher offering, etc...) I know there's a two-(normal sized)volume Captain America, are there others?  )
ntnon - Based on your post count I see that you're fairly new to the Boards...? If so, you may not be aware that there have been several folks around these parts who have been clamoring for a Simonson Thor Omnibus for years. I don't recall who in particular, but a couple of them have been very vocal about it. You may or may not be aware that the Simonson Thor Omnibus was far and away voted the most requested Omnibus in the last two Masterworks Surveys...
New enough to not have seen everything; old enough to be aware that a Simonson Omnibus is not just something I'd like..! But it was the label alone that I was querying, in case there was something deep I've missed at some point...

A slipcased set is vain hope as far as I know. I suggested a two-volume slipcased set years ago, along with the "Marvel Supreme Editions" label. Modern masterpieces like Walt's Thor, Miller's DD, Byrne's FF - that sorta stuff was tailor made for a special line of "super deluxe slipcase hard covers." This was back before the first Omnibus volume..
Right. OK. Thanks! Oddly reassuring to know that there aren't piles of "Supreme Editions" for me to try and hunt down.

Would that total include/exclude/ignore potential letters pages...?

Exclude/ignore, I'm afraid, but now I'm intrigued. What's so interesting about those letter pages? Did Simonson himself answer the mail? Were there lots of negative reactions to the "bold new direction" or something?
Personally, letter pages are always interesting, so since some/many Omnibii include them, I was just curious as to whether they'd been factored into the calculated page count.

As far as the letter pages, IMO, they are far more important than some of those suggested extras... Walt and Ralph Macchio did respond to a lot of readers' queries at the time.
...although reading that, I do now hope more that they'll be included in some form. Whether in one massive tome or a handful of thinner ones.
