I agree with this. If one wants to watch a "real" Sgt. Rock movie there are a number of classic WWII films that basically worked along the same lines. It's the same reason why I'm not that keen on a Shang Chi movie - why bother when I could just watch Enter the Dragon already?

That said, stuff like this reminds me of something Michael Crichton once said about Hollywood: "They're dumb. Like, 2 + 2 = 5 dumb."
