Uh, Kam... in what alternate universe did Marriage start out as a holy institution? That crap was just recently layered onto it.

Traditionally, Marriage was used for things like ending wars, gaining and controlling property, and the women themselves were pretty much property in the deal. I don't see what's so holy about that.
