Good thoughts, Kam. Thanks for sharing! I agree with what you've said, especially the last paragraph. I would add that the opposite is also true: marriages can fall apart whether they are religious or not.  The stats on divorce for religious/non-religious validate this.

By contrast, a sincere commitment to one's faith will in turn bring about a sincere commitment to one's spouse. I like the triangle illustration. God represents the top point of the triangle; the husband/wife represent the two points of the triangle's base. If the two spouses are devoted to God in their faith, that is if they are growing closer to Him, then they will also be growing closer together. The key is the sincere commitment.
