"The Golden Age of Tarzan" by Burne Hogarth (published in 1977) is wonderfully huge! The pages are reproduced full size, appr. 15" x 20" hardbound with gold cover and slipcase. It's got about 3 years worth of strips from 1939 to 1942, reproduced in full color from high quality scans of original printed-strips. Really heavy paper stock too, with an intro by Mr. Hogarth, and a signed/numbered page (mine is #849 of 2,000). A true labor or comic-strip printing-loooove.

I got it in the very early 1980's. Comics & Comix of Berkeley had it in their glass case for a long time and I wanted it badly for months...but the $100 price tag was simply too much for my college-age budget. I walked in one day and my eyes fell immediately to the 50% off card that had been placed upon it. Faster than I could whip out my checkbook, I declared, "Mine!" Getting that thing home (unfff..!) on B.A.R.T. was not easy.

And I've lugged this ponderously-heavy badboy around from dwelling to dwelling ever since...and I will die with it close by.
