Sounds interesting. I may keep my eye for cheap copies of those latter SSoCs.
Who did the artwork on them?
At the time I collected the Conan the Savage b&w mag, which IIRC was mainly scripted by Chuck Dixon.
I still have them filed away.
My abiding memory was that Dixon had a pretty good handle on Conan's character but all the stories were pretty generic and interchangeable. I believe there was one story which stood out because it was drawn by Alcatena, who I really dig, and another by Raphael Kayanan, who is also great.

I also have the Conan the Adventurer series lying in my "to read" pile. I read a couple of issues at the time but despite the great Kayanan artwork, Roy's scripts seemed so - I dunno - perfunctory and "been there, done thatish".

I noticed the Solomon Kane vs Dracula storied is reprinted in one of the Conan Sagas. Definitely pick that up one of these days because I've been dying to see it for years. It was included in the Essential ToD, probably because DH holds at least partial rights.

Speaking of Chuck Dixon, I thought he did a pretty good job of taking over from Alan Zelenetz, after his great run on Conan the King.
I think Zelenetz, along with Mark Silvestri and Geoff Isherwood, produced one of the best runs on Conan at Marvel outside of Roy's body of work. Of course the beautiful Mike Kaluta covers didn't hurt none either.
I wonder when DH will get around to reprinting the King Conan material. I hope they collect The Hour of the Dragon in one volume. IIRC that was printed all over the place originally; the Conan annual, Giant-Size Conan and finally SSoC.
