Don Newton only did one Aquaman in World's Finest - #262.

Yes, Superman Family was a Dollar Comic for 41 issues - #182-222. From beginning to end it was basically Supergirl, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen. For a while it also included Nightwing and Flamebird, Mr. & Mrs. Superman (Earth-2), Private Life of Clark Kent, and even some solo Superman stories (IIRC). It also included (briefly) Superboy, Krypto (fortunately not for too long), and even Perry White, and maybe one or two other minor features I've forgotten.

I wouldn't want to put you off Superman Family, Deejayway, but some of the art was a little too pedestrian for my liking, but there was some gold among the dross, and back issues of this title should be fairly cheap. Overall, Batman Family definitely had the better art, in my opinion.

About the first half-dozen issues or so of Batman Family had about 17 pages of new stuff, and the rest was reprints. After that it was all-new stories.

I have never liked Ditko's art in the least, so I am not the person to answer you about his Starman strip.
