1) Superman from Action Comics #1
Famous First Edition tabloid of Action Comics #1, 1974
Primitive, but fun.

2) Batman from Detective Comics #27
Famous First Edition tabloid of Detective Comics #27, 1974
A strange start for my favorite hero.

3) Spider-Man from Amazing Fantasy #15
The Pocket Books reprint of AF #15 and Amazing Spider-Man #1-6, 1977
Awesome origin

4) Fantastic Four #1
The Pocket Books reprint of FF #1-6, 1977
Primitive, especially the Thing, but very good.

5) Batman (new look) from Detective Comics #327
Dynamic Duo Archives #1, 2003
Underwhelmed

6) Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76
Green Lantern/Green Arrow #1, 1983
Great Artwork, ok story

7) Superboy (and the LSH) from Adventure Comics #247
DC Silver Age Classics Adventure Comics 247, 1992
neutral

8) Avengers #4
Pocket Books Captain America, 1979
It was quite a bit different that the version I saw on the Marvel Super-Heroes cartoon. And Cap was kinda skinny back in the olden days.

9) The Brave and the Bold #28
Justice League of America Archives #1, 1992
Nice start, but things got better later on when the heroes actually team-up with each other.

10) Avengers #16
The Avengers #150, 1976
How could they throw out Thor & Iron Man for Quicksilver???

11) X-Men #1
Son of Origins of Marvel Comics, 1975
Nice story, but Iceman looked silly and Beast was a Ben Grimm-clone.

12) Thor from Journey Into Mystery #83
Origins of Marvel Comics, which I didn't buy until the early 1980's
Thor was skinny back then, too.

13) Supergirl from Action Comics #252
Secret Origins (second series) #2, 1973
Wow, Superman's got a little sister!

14) Captain America (origin story) from Captain America Comics #1
Captain America two-volume slipcase reprinting CA #1-10, 1990's (couldn't find the GCD page for this)
Good, but Simon & Kirby got better as time went by.
