1) Superman from Action Comics #1 - I would have read the origin story in one of the Superman Annuals of the mid-sixties.

2) Batman from Detective Comics #27 - Ditto, except in one of the Batman Annuals of the same period

3) Spider-Man from Amazing Fantasy #15 - In black&white, sideways format in a Lancer paperback book in 1966.

4) Fantastic Four #1 - I read some of the high points in another 1966 Lancer paperback, and I would have read the whole thing in Origins Of Marvel Comics when it weas released in 1974.

5) Batman (new look) from Detective Comics #327 - Some time in the late seventies, don't recall where or in what format.

6) Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76 - Shortly after it was released. I heard a lot of the buzz and found a copy used in a local used book store.

7) Superboy (and the LSH) from Adventure Comics #247 - Almost certainly in a Superboy Annual from the mid-sixties. I remember reading a lot of the LoSH stories from Adventure Comics as they were published, but didn't read the original until it appeared in one of the Annuals.

8) Avengers #4 - Not sure exactly when I would have first read this. Possibly in a 1969 reprint annual?

9) The Brave and the Bold #28 - In a DC trade circa 1978.

10) Avengers #16 - When I picked up a copy of the original comic at a Chicago convention in 1985.

11) X-Men #1 - In Origins Of Marvel Comics, 1974 or Son Or Origins, 1975, whichever one it appeared in.

12) Thor from Journey Into Mystery #83 - In another one of those Lancer paperbacks in 1966

13) Supergirl from Action Comics #252 - Again, in one of the mid-sixties DC Annuals.

14) Captain America (origin story) from Captain America Comics #1 - This one is tougher. I'm pretty sure it didn't appear in any of the Fantasy Masterpieces issues from 1966 that featured other Golden Age Cap tales. If it wasn't in the Masterworks, it would have been in one of the trades from the 1970s like The Great Comic Book Heroes or All In Color For A Dime or the Smithsonian book.
