I agree. AW is one of my favorite X-Men stories and the Mutant Massacre was the last great X-Men epic, imo. Some of the later Claremont stories were OK and every so often a creative team pumps out a decent read, but I think after the MM cross-over, the X-Men became less about the "X-Men" and more about a franchise that was required to fuel an endless cross-over engine that eventually caused the franchise to collapse under its own weight.
