House of Mystery and Madame Xanadu from Vertigo both have strong female characters and are relatively short runs.
No silly men in spandex either, which I tend to think is a big turn-off for people not raised on the conceit of superheroes.
I remember when I first moved to Europe, how my friends used to laugh at my superhero comics and at the time I honestly couldn't understand what was so funny because back then to me comics were men in tights.

Fables from Vertigo is a good option too and Sandman. One or two volumes of each should be enough to hook her.
