I spent the first 28 years of my life in the NYC area, lived the next 10 all over the place in the military, then settled in Jacksonville Florida. NY was a great place to grow up, but I don't see how anyone puts up with all of that nonsense as an adult. I'm glad I got out of there when I did! My teams as a kid were all NY based (naturally), but at this point my rooting interests have officially evolved:

NBA: Never really cared too much for basketball, but I'll root for the Orlando Magic if they make the playoffs since they are the closest team to me.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (like Orville, when I lived in NYC I followed the Jets)

MLB: The Tampa Bay Rays are the sports team I have followed the closest for the last 3 years. They have replaced the Mets as my favorite sports team. Still pull for the Mets in the NL, though.

NHL: Followed the Islanders when in NY, but now follow the Tampa Bay Lightning

College hoops: St. John's University Red Storm (my alma mater)

College Football: Florida State University Seminoles (my wife's alma mater)
