I just don't see there being a significant difference in demand between say, a Phantom Zone book collecting stories from 1960-68, and a sequential volume culled from the same period. Besides which, the success of Showcases have shown that sequential SA collections sell, at the right price point.

And if they have to price it at $20, so be it. There already seems to be a two-tiered pricing for "classic" softcovers - the upcoming Flash vs. Rogues is listed at $15, because it's from previously archived material and requires less prep work, while other softcovers that do need recoloring list at $20.

While I hoped that DC would have offered up a sequel to Man of Tomorrow Archives by now, the fact is that they haven't - it's going on 4 years since the last release. However, they have issued 6 or 7 Silver Age Superman softcovers since then, so they must feel that is the best way to meet that demand.

"As for contentment, that is a myth.  Give a man everything he wishes and he will be unhappy, because he didn't wish for more; give him more, and he will die of his worries.  Only a turtle, asleep on a sunny log, knows contentment!"
