I've done something similar with the last issue of Hush (it's always the last damned issue!) but I wasn't smart. I tried to be slick by cutting the first page off, then I folded the second and third page. It's very similar to what you suggest, jhalbright, but I didn't fold. I glued. It came out all right, and I'm not that attached to Hush that I lose sleep over it. But, I might just go with your options because while similar, they're pretty much all I can do without that ugly and annoying accordion fold that I hate seeing.

I'm starting to get worried about the size and gutter loss. Planetary's issues, for the most part when you remove the back pages and the ads aren't that bad. There are a few double page spreads here and there. I'm worried that with 27 issues, 3 prestige books (I copied the covers, don't worry) that it may affect how the book looks. I've done like 40+ comics in one shot with Captain America and DC Vs Marvel and Armageddon 2001. There was gutter loss, but it wasn't as bad. Planetary's a comic I love and it's something I'd love to have collected all in one shot but minus the annoyance of gutter loss. So I'm wondering if I can get everything in with the issues being so short.
