DC reportedly also sued Fawcett over Master Man in Master Comics. Fawcett must have settled or just dropped the character.

The clearest case of swipin' Superman was Wonder Man in Fox's first issue of Wonder Comics, May 1939.
Joe Simon (IMS) was told to copy Superman by Victor Fox and did. National sued immediately -- Wonder Man didn't even make it to the second issue of Wonder Comics (June, 1939) though there was a second story drawn. At trial, Simon testified that Fox had ordered a copy of Superman, Fox lost and then refused to pay Joe Simon a rather large sum of money then owed him. Being honest didn't pay. But then perjury doesn't either.
