Wow, this issue rocked. It is in so many ways ironic that the FF help Namor without him knowing it, given the pompous nature of our Prince. At the end Namor looks soooo weary... but very regal!

I found Dorma's betrayal quite surprising, but I guess she is not the first person to do something stupid in the name of love. And she does try to set things straight, and in the ends she does. With the help of the FF. It's funny that she doesn't want to tell Namor about the FF helping him behind the scenes, because of "his great pride". I agree, sometimes men are better kept in dark about their own shortcomings.

Despite working on separate threats to Namor, the FF actually feel like a team in this issue, like a well-trained team to boot! Everyone pulls his/her own weight. Attuma is suitably fierce and powerful as a villain, and I can't help to think that he served as a basis for some of Jack Kirby's Fourth World villains.

Reed's bathysphere (page 8, I wonder where that pic was taken from) looks uncannily like Trieste, which dove down to the Mariana Trench.

Art by Kirby and Stone is really top notch. Dynamic fight scenes, faces display emotions and so on. And look at this wonderful piece of Kirby Machinery! A lesser visionary would have a round object with some things attached to it, but Jack has the good sense to make it slightly asymmetrical. The reader feels that the weapon is this shape for a reason, although we don't know it.

Don McGregor has a letter printed in the letter col. Also, Stan proudly states that now all Marvel mags have their own letter columns!
