I was in the camp that felt the story itself was kind of run of the mill - more a greatest hits of the X-Men with a modern twist than new direction - but that's perfectly fine. It serves as a nice sampling for the casual reader. It's the pacing, characterization, and art that really elevate this to a special place in the X-pantheon.

BTW, add me to the list of folks who had a Spidey-sense tingle that there'd be an Omnibus down the line, and (wisely!) didn't buy the second OHC... [insert emoticon representing financial savvy; maybe the Monopoly guy?]
