I think the first arc was axcellent, Astonishing even ( ), but after that it was just o-kay. Morrison's run asa whole I thought was much, much better. But man I love that cast: Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Professor X, Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, and in Morrison's run, Jean. I think if Gambit, Rogue, and Storm were thrown in there in place of Colossus and Kitty, you'd have the All-Star X-Team. But the gambit/rogue thing got tiresome before it even started. And Storm can lean boring with the wrong writer. Now, Mike Carey's cast, round the same time as Whedon's.... now THAT was a team! I also really liked the members of Brubaker's Shi'Ar Saga team. That year 2006-early 2007, was a very good one for the X-books. No one used Bishop or Angel, though, and Psylocke was over in the "meh" Exiles...Still, wotta great year. mike Carey's Supernovas and Extremists, Whedon's Astonishing, Brubaker's Shi'Ar and Extremists, and David's X-Factor... good times. Much better than the awful Messiah CompleX year and I haven't bothered to pick up any X-books since ...
