What are we talking about? Three issues of Avengers and three issues of Defenders that will be duplicated here?

If both MM books have the crossover, then there is another situation.

Suppose a buyer plunks down his $38 (or $54, without discount) for the next Defenders Masterworks. He is delighted to get the entire story in one volume.

Then, a few months later, he buys the next Avengers masterworks. Out of the ten issues reprinted, he finds that six of the ten issues--over half!--are the same issues in the earlier Masterworks. He has just paid $38 for four issues of The Defenders. Is this fair to him? Or, Alan, is this--insane??

The only way I can see Marvel handling this in a way that won't risk ticking off a lot of people is by printing 13 issues in each volume for the same price, making the three crossover issues a free bonus. Will this happen? Or is this equally insane? Only your editors know for sure...
