I'm also VERY pleased that the more deserving of the two won the season by such a wide margin. In a way, it speaks to the changing demographic of the audience for this show. I think larger numbers of us old people (over 40's) are watching and less young kids are watching because they are being alienated by mentors and guest musicians that mean nothing to them. What little kid of Archuletta voting age cares about Donna Summer or ZZ Top or Bryan Adams or George Michael?

Anyway, this was a much stronger season than last year contestant-wise (although weaker mentor-wise) and I think we're going to get a lot of interesting debut CD's from this year's crop. Nobody from last year interested me enough to buy their CD. This year, there are a bunch I would be interested in trying out.

See you all again for Season 8 in January.
