I always found it interesting to see the various takes on the afterlife portrayed in comics, without really neccessarily feeling in sync with any of them. As far as Nemesis goes, certainly the writer's own take must have played a role in how it was portrayed, but to what extent I'm not sure. I mean, Hughes was never hot on doing Super-types to begin with, right? And so much fiction flowed from his typewriter that might have been knocking it all out, philosophy and all, without really tying it in to his real attitude or take on it.

I totally agree that Nemisis is way above the Mighty Crusaders stuff, who had their own appeal to me as a kid.

The best thing I remember about the Magicman stuff was the interesting artwork. I can't remember any stories or parts of stories. Perhaps because they were poor?

I also found gems in the ACG mystery and horror tales. I hope they get some of that into collected editions.
