Okay, just for fun. Here's my list compared with Fyrcyning.
My rating system is based a 10 star scale to allow more room to indicate the huge gulf between talents with Alan Moore on top with 9 stars (nobody gets top marks), Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison & James Robinson with 8 und so weiter.

Stan Lee: 6 stars.

Chris Claremont: 4 stars

Roger Stern: 5 stars

Steve Englehart: 4 stars

Walt Simonson: 4 stars

Frank Miller: 8 stars

Gerry Conway: 3 stars

Len Wein: 3 stars

Grant Morrison: 8 stars

David Michelinie: 4 stars

Peter David: 5 stars

Mark Gruenwald: 2 stars

Peter B. Gillis: 4 stars

Jim Starlin: 6 stars

J. Michael Straczynski: 6 stars

Roy Thomas: 6 stars

Kurt Busiek: 4 stars

J.M. DeMatteis: 6 stars

Marv Wolfman: 5 stars

Archie Goodwin: 4 stars

Based on my scale, 4 stars means a perfectly enjoyable read but nothing remarkable. Even 3 is fun. 2 is off the radar.
