Droid, as you said - we all see things differently.

Michael Johns - I agree that he was working on the looks and the accent. He was a good singer but not the best in the field.

Kristy Lee - again, okay for her genre (country) but nothing that stands out that any others aren't doing. Good but not the best.

Carly - she's hit and miss for me. Sometimes very good, sometimes so-so. I'd enjoy listening to her in the local bar on a Saturday night, but I'm not going to shell out big bucks to hear her perform.

Syesha - I concur, she is getting better and more confident each week. However, it is how she comes across otherwise that is going to be a problem. She isn't charming all the time. She doesn't guard against those little looks and body language that is putting off voters. That's been her downfall and is what will cost her in the end.

Jason - I see why he's got the voting audience he does (young girls - because of his looks, and the stoners - because he's one of them). I think he's got potential with the right material and the right direction to sell some records. Not Idol winner status by any means though. He's sort of the type of music one would hear at the background at a Starbucks or a Barnes-Noble bookstore - pleasant and unoffensive.

Brooke - I think he has a very good voice and can do the piano-singer-songwriter stuff just fine. I think the competition and the pressure is what is getting to her. And that's a factor of the industry all these contestants have to learn to deal with, or it will eat them alive. I think Brooke will put out some pleasant music post-competition. She'll have a career - just not a mega career.

David A. - I totally agree, he has the chops and the talent to be a big star in the future. He is just so young and needs the guidance. Perfect for 19E to mold over time, so even a second place win for him will be enough to set him up for a good future.

David Cook - consistently the best all-around performer. He knows what he's doing - by picking songs, by finding the right arrangements (either from other artists or ones he does himself). He knows when to pull the right card (like this week - leaving the song as-is). He is likeable, marketable and confident without being arrogant. If he wins this, Idol will have a winner on par with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Idol needs a solid male winner who carry the banner. Reuben didn't pan out (no crossover appeal) and Taylor could not be tamed (he stayed true to himself and wouldn't let 19E control him).
