I really couldn't care less about any of these previous attempts to break into the music business by anybody who was ever on Idol. I just view the people on the show as contestants trying to outshine each other for a shot at a major label contract. It's obvious to me that the show is not, nor has ever been a 100% pure talent contest for complete unknowns who have never recorded anything. I'm fine with that. The only problem I have with Idol is the knowledge that they can (and most likely do) alter the votes as they see fit. I don't blame them for doing it because they need to make good television and get ratings, but the show should not pretend that it has integrity when it has final authority on who stays and who goes based on whatever agenda they are pushing.

Still, it's a fun show to watch as long as there are still contestants in it that appeal to me. I hated the final four from last year, so I didn't tune in for the last shows. I loved many from Season 5, so I was with the show all the way that year.
