They are still there and much loved by divers, although one was lost just a few days before I flew out of the UK. I read a few years ago that steel from these ships was valued in certain research as it had not been exposed to atomic radiation having been sunk before the testing of the first Atomic Bomb.

Seriously... they lost it? Damn careless of the Royal Navy if you ask me...

The atomic thing makes sense, that steel was manufactured before atomic testing in the forties and fifties put a few hundred tons of radiation into the atmosphere.
