Looks like we are all on the same page this week! I completely agree with mcmaenza's comments. And droid, although you might not have been impressed with David Cook, I think the judges were right on about the fact that he is exactly the kind of artist who sells millions of albums right now and he is ready to start a recording career more than any of the other contestants at this point. I wasn't wild about his performance this week, but it was a lot better than last week's slip and he did have to do something with a Mariah Carey song which is the opposite of the kind of music he normally prefers, so all in all not a bad effort!

Did anyone notice that Brooke started trembling halfway through her song and couldn't stop until it was over? It was very clear on a high def TV....you could see her jaw shaking as she tried to stay on pitch. Not a comfortable night for Brooke, although the judges were kind.

I wasn't impressed with David Cook's performance last night, but I do agree that he's ready to step into a recording studio right now. At this point, he's got to be considered the odds-on favorite to win this season's competition.

As for Brooke, I think she's hurting herself by playing the piano all the time. Last night, it was clearly a distraction and it has hurt her a couple of times now. She's proven that she's multi-talented, now she has to focus on giving her best vocal performances and forget the piano. A few weeks ago, I figured Brooke was a lock for the top 3, at least. Maybe she could even pull an upset and win the whole thing. Now I'm not even sure she'll make it to next week.
