droid and mcmaenza --

I agree with both of your posts and I don't know how I ever wound up sounding like I'm defending a guy who didn't really shake me and who I would probably never support with my wallet.

All I said a few days ago was that even the less talented of the final 10 shouldn't be written off as a complete bust before their AI albums are released and we see how the music buying public responds to them. I thought that was a pretty reasonable statement, but then droid started making me sound like it was a ridiculous statement and I naturally got defensive.

For crying out loud, nobody was more average vocally than Bucky Covington and he has had two hit songs on the country charts so far from a debut album that hit #1 on the country chart and #4 on the U.S. Billboard 200. There's one example of what I'm talking about....very average singer doing well, at least for a moment. You just never know!

And even if he fails musically, you never know who else in the entertainment business will give him a chance at something else...daytime TV, movies, whatever. I think it's too early to write him off as a person in show business less than one week after his AI vote off.

I also think that if AI worked in the way that you call to vote for who you want eliminated the most, he would still be on the show. I think if more people knew he was in danger of receiving the lowest votes, they would have called and kept him in. Again, I'm not a fan but I know a lot of people personally who are fans.
