The graphic novel leads into the first issue of the ongoing series.

It's been a long time since I've read the series, so I'd be hard-pressed to say a whole lot about the content. Guice isn't around for the whole series, though... the later issues were done by Geof Isherwood and by Colleen Doran. I felt that Guice's art really worked especially well with the visuals of pirate ships in space. I also felt that Micronauts benefited from having a long run of issues where certain themes or plot points could be touched upon a year or two later. SotS doesn't have that since it's run was pretty short.

I picked up SotS as back issues long after I read Micronauts. Micronauts was one of my absolute top favorites when I was growing up. My recollection is that if you enjoyed the Mantlo/Guice Micronauts, then you'll enjoy SotS.

Hard copies of the SotS issues are cheap. Not sure about the graphic novel, but if that's available for download at wowio, I would give it a "thumbs up."
