It can be pretty interesting to see how companies react to cases like this. Someone upthread said the law required companies to protect their trademarks if they want to keep them. But contrary to what many think, that doesn't mean that all infringements on the trademark must be litigated out of existence. It just means that the company must actually use the trademarks it wants to keep. "Xerox" is still a trademark of the Xerox Corporation (and they're pretty protective of it, as comics fans might remember) but some think they lost the rights to it because the word has long since fallen into general usage and can be found in the OED.

So while DC could very well be within their right to shut sites like this down, it doesn't mean they have to.
