You're right, Gormuu, the topic is interesting and Skrullzy or anyone certainly shouldn't be disparage for starting discussions like this. I guess the countless examples of forum spam and astroturfing on the internet have made me too cynical (I actually had to look at Skrullzy's post count before I was sure it was for real).

Skrullzy has been a member of the board almost since its inception, when he went by BatzInDaBelfry or some such moniker. But your point about astroturfing is well taken. It galls me, too...and in some sense threads like these plays into the hands of those who want to market themselves or their product. But I think in the end, discussing it is more valuable to these boards than eliminating such discussion just because it's (likely) something illegal; and as you can see by Samy and 5YL's posts in this thread, there isn't even common agreement on that latter point, and that too is worth discussing.

I'd also hoped my take on the subject would be seen as humorous rather than an admonishment, but I can see how you'd read it the other way. Maybe I should finally relent and start using smileys and emoticons and whatnot.

It's a shame it has to be that way, but smileys and emoticons are almost a prerequisite for communicating humorous intent on the internet. It's hard to translate sarcasm or gentle ribbing through dry, conversational text. But no harm taken, hundur, at least not from my end. And I'm sure Skrullzy's not overly upset. He's a pretty forgiving guy. At least when he's posing in his human form!!!
