Nice, pleasant voice...licks his lips a whole lot...awkward movements on stage...I just feel like you get the same thing every week from him. Seriously, can you see today's teenagers actually spending their money on a David A album or putting him on their IPods? It would be the equivalent of a 41 year old guy like me buying Barry Manilow albums when I was in High School...NEVER HAPPEN. Maybe he would sell to the "High School Musical" "Hannah Montana" crowd, but that's about it.
The big "whoop" about David A. is that he has an abundance of the one quantity that you can't teach; talent. He's 17 years old and can be taught how to deliver his songs and how to move around on stage; he can change the genre of the songs he sings and have a stylist change his look. What you are seeing now is far from the finished product. On the other hand, no matter how hard you try or how much money you spend, you'll never teach someone to sing who has no talent.
