Droid, I think you're tier structure is pretty solid - however I think stellar performances could cause some ripples/shifts in ejection orders. I think this season will be interesting just to see who will rise and who will faulter.

Doug, I totally agreen David's history had an effect in his ousting this week. First, there is believability when they sing. He sings "I Saw Her Standing There" - a song about a guy obcessing over a girl. For me, David didn't sell it. Is it because he is gay? Is it because he is bi? I don't know his sexual orientation. However, his male-lap-dancing job makes me thinks he leans more towards one of these two rather than just straight. Then the job segment. Everyone talked about their jobs. He talks about the pizza place. No mention of dancing. I understand why - this is a family show after all. But it screamed "hypocrisy" to me - again casting his authenticity into doubt for me. If I had been a fan and if I had been voting for him, after hearing all the news, I would be wondering "is this my Idol?". Nope. Finally, so-so performance. I half wonder if he didn't like all the scrutiny and wanted an out. I say this because the previous two weeks I had ranked his performances rather high. To sink like a stone - something just didn't add up. I think he was ready to go and get on with his life, on his terms. Scandals have a way of messing up one's life bad.
