mcmaenza, it appears from the tone of your reply to my last post that you were offended by that post. Let me assure you that it was not my intent to offend you and if you were offended, I would sincerely like to offer my apology. My post was just a combination of gut reaction and astonishment that someone actually found Amanda's "singing" entertaining. The fact that she's still in the competition probably has more to do with the fact that "vote for the worst" is supporting her than does an honest appreciation of her talents.

I am curious about one thing, though. Would you spend $40 on a concert ticket to see her perform live?

Anyhow, on to the eliminations.

Alaina Whitaker was no surprise; she's one of several "interchangable" female contestants that will be eliminated before we get to the real talent. The order that they go is immaterial. I did believe that Kady Malloy would go before she did but I'm glad she'll be getting another chance. I think that, deep down, she has potential. Alexandrea Lushington was a bit more of a surprise. Not a real contender to win the title, but I thought she was a bit higher on the ladder of "interchangable" contestants. I thought she'd probably make the top 12 before she was booted.

The real shock for me was that Amanda Overmyer survived. The first thing I did this morning was check with "vote for the worst" and sure enough, they'er supporting Amanda and Danny Noriega, which helps to explain why he's still here as well.

No surprise at all that Jason Yeager was booted; next to Danny Noriega, he was easily the worst guy. Robbie Carrico falls into the "interchangable" group. Exactly when he got booted was irrelevant, everyone knew he wasn't going to win. But he is certainly better than Danny Noriega, who likely held on do to the support of "vote for the worst."

The thing about "vote for the worst" is that it's support means less and less as the field gets trimmed. Both Amanda nd Danny were near the bottom in votes received, I think it's unlikely that they'll survive another elimination.
