Bass Reeves = Lone Ranger? (reply)
The contention that Bass Reeves was the inspiration for the Lone Ranger is pretty well-known, I thought. http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/06/sport/lone-ranger-african-american-reeves/index.html

Gene Colan (reply)
This is a punk band, the Enemies, from Buffalo, NY. The album came out in the late '70s, the heyday of punk. No idea how they got Colan to do the cover. But it's very cool.

Holy Cow! My prayers are answered! (reply)
I was a big fan of the Dennis comics when I was a kid (alongside liking Spidey and Batman and all the other hero books). Dennis was one of the few humor books I liked, especially the big vacation books where he and his folks traveled...

Spoiler-probable question? (reply)
So if this is outta bounds, please reply to me by email (jeff.lindholm@myfairpoint.net), but is Coulson mentioned or acknowledged as living in the new Avengers movie? I ask because of Whedon's recent comments about Coulson having to stay...

Hawkeye in Bendis's New Avengers HC? (topic)
So I'm reading the HC of Bendis's "New Avengers," with the Thing, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, and Spidey on the cover. And Cage is putting his new team together, and Hawkeye's at the table, although I don't think he has any or more...

"100 Years of Comic Strips" (reply)
This oversized hardcover, published by Barnes and Noble and which I got there pretty cheap, has 24 pages of Blondie strips from 1933 (I think, there isn't any text to go with them, and I tried to read the little dates on each strip, but...

Weird Love hardcover? (topic)
Does anyone have this yet? Any comments on the stories, how it's put together, etc? I won't be able to get this for a while, but wondering how good it is! Thanks.

Hoping to finally get a used MW 1 (reply)
Yes, I'm hoping, too, that I can get a copy of SHIELD MW 1 once the omni comes out. I've got MW vols. 2 and 3 but missed out on vol. 1 before it sold out. So I'd be happy with those three and hope to find an unloaded copy. We'll see....

But will the Atom shrink? (reply)
Will Ray Palmer shrink on "Arrow" when he puts on the A.T.O.M. suit? I don't think that's been mentioned, but rather that he's going to have some kinda atomic-powered suit to fight bad guys, but shrinking? I don't think we've heard that...

Comics Database? (topic)
There's a website where you can go and look up a character to see where any stories of this character have been reprinted. So if I was looking for any graphic novels with stories about, say, Space Chimp, I could go there and find out...

Hulk Peter David Visionaries 1--2nd printing? (topic)
The listing in Amazon for this one, some of them say that the cover is different from the one shown, and I see evidence online of a second printing. Do the different printings for this have different covers? Is one cover version/printing...

Funding (reply)
Key Agent of the Shadow:That's what has bugged me, too. On "The Flash" TV show, too, they are living and/or working in a closed-down super collider, a huge facility, and the collider's not running, but all the other computers, lights,...

Request: Sample or preview of "Secret Warriors"? (topic)
Now that the "Secret Warriors" comic series is looking important to the live action Marvel actor-ish universe (is that spoilerish enough?), could someone tell me where I might find a sample of a few or several pages from this comics...

How does STAR Labs operate? (reply)
I've been wondering how STAR Labs on this show operates? Where does the money to keep all this stuff running come from? The particle accelerator itself was a mega-expensive thing, almost beyond expensive. And when it failed, everything...

Info on Hamilton Books (reply)
I've ordered tons of stuff from them over the years and their books are new but might or might not have remainder marks (Sharpie line on flat outside bottom of pages). A good place to shop, says I.

The Adventure run (reply)
Osgood and Fubar: Yes, the Adventure stories are too recent to be the one that spooked me. I was 19 or so when they started in '74. So maybe it was a Super Special. Maybe it was a Golden-Age story that I read in the late '60s. I just...
