Re: Alias omnibus back to print? (reply)
Ah, okay. So the Pulse is going to be a paperback, with a hardcover Omni for Alias? I hadn't realized that the Pulse info was firm and out there yet, thought all we had was Bendis's comment. That's why you folks are so great. Thanks....

Different page count? (reply)
In the story linked above, Bendis says that there's going to be a Pulse collection too. I noticed the different page counts; the original Alias Omni was listed as 592 pages, and the new one is 720 pages. I'd thought the Pulse stories...

Ward's actions at the end? (reply)
So, I finally (FINALLY!!!) got the time to watch this week's show, and my wife says she thinks that Ward is being mind-controlled at the end, that he seemed too robotic on the plane with Garrett and Hand. There was some kind of weird...

Re: "The Incal" by Alejandro Jodorowsky????? (reply)
Deejayway: I am sorry for getting testy. I took your remarks more to mean that I couldn't do my job if I didn't know a whole lot about the subject, and as I said, that's not so, since my job at this point is more checking grammar and...

Re: "The Incal" by Alejandro Jodorowsky????? (reply)
I'm not editing the book; I'm proofreading, which means that I'm reading the finished pages set up like they're going to look in the printed book. My job at this point is mostly picking up typos and things like page numbers being wrong...

"The Incal" by Alejandro Jodorowsky????? (topic)
My day job (how I pay for comics) is as an editor, of both medical journal articles and books. Right now, I'm proofreading the autobiography of Alejandro Jodorowsky, whom I have heard of but just that. I understand he's a film director...

Re: A great day for Bushmiller/Nancy fans! (reply)
I'll admit that part of Nancy's appeal is nostalgia for my childhood and a simpler time in America that the strip reflects. In fact, it seemed old-fashioned and dreamlike to me even back when I read it as a kid in the mid-60s.

For the article about Brubaker's choice on the Winter Soldier name. I appreciate knowing his thought process and that he drew upon the name's history, although I'm not comfortable with using that name for someone like what Bucky's...

Why was Bucky called "the Winter Soldier"? (reply)
I have not read the original comics story, but given that (I assume) the Winter Soldier name was taken from the hearings organized by Vietnam Veterans Against the War, which were called the Winter Soldier Investigation, to publicize...

Who were Congressional hearing interrogators? (reply)
There were two middle-aged white guys who I assume are Congressmen at some kind of hearing at the end of the movie who were interrogating Natasha, before she walked out. One guy on the right of the table, one at the left. Both actors...

New stories or adaptations of '30 novels? (reply)
Are the comics in this archive new stories written just for the comics (my preference) or are they rewrites/adaptations of the original Lester Dent novels (which we or I might have already read)? Thanks.Jeff Lindholm

Is this black-and-white? (reply)
Is this stuff black-and-white, magazine-style, with the bigger pages, more pages, but all B&W, like the "Deadly Hands of Kung Fu" mag? I wasn't aware of Doc Savage back then.

Or . . . (reply)
Oswalt might be playing a Koenig who is the original character's grandson or other "same-name" relative. Or there might be time travel involved (oooh, time travel . . . )!

New "Winter Soldier" hardcover? (topic)
I think the new hardcover of "Winter Soldier" came out last week, right? How does it compare to the previously issued paperback? I was looking at that at the local bookstore, and it seems like a good edition--nice paper, bright colors. I...
