Re: TopShelf joins the Omnibus craze  (reply)
I felt better when the HC version was just cancelled. Not a fan of this decision.

Re: THE FANTASTIC FOUR OMNIBUS VOL. 3 HC (reply)
So looking forward to this with the Kirby cover. I paired it with the Hawkeye Omnibus on my pre-order so still have a few months to go before ToW ships it out.

Re: Masterworking Marvel's 70's B&W magazines ? (reply)
About 3 years ago I finally focused on getting a lot of these Marvel magazine series, in part because I had low expectations of them ever being reprinted comprehensively, particularly the non-horror series. I was able to complete Marvel...

Re: A Very Strange Comixology Error (reply)
Most likely the fault is on Fantagraphics end. The content supplier is responsible to the item description, as well as the file submitted. However, alerting Comixology to the issue is the right way to go, as they can have FG resubmit...

Re: 80's Batman (reply)
The artist and writer themed collections, mainly Gene Colan, Don Newton, and Len Wein will hit a lot of the 80s highlights.

I was hoping for an Omnibus eventually, but I'm in for the MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN TPB.

Re: Interesting Article Detailing Creator Pay Rates at Marvel and DC... (reply)
I think the primary difference here is page rate versus the impact of sales on what a creator makes. The lure of corporate money versus what your work can generate on its own was what lead Dave Sim's decision to start releasing "phone...

Re: Star Wars Marvel Years Omnibus (reply)
My copy of the second Star Wars Omnibus just arrived from ToW. Nice intro by Tom Palmer about his reference method with drawing the various space ships. Included are photos he took of the models he used to draw from. Bonus features...

Re: Final MMW Purchase (reply)
I don't really have a strict buying pattern for Masterworks, so can't really imagine there being a "last volume" per se. I like work from all eras form the 40s to now, so really my purchasing has more to do with the material rather than...

My copy from Amazon ($20, thank you very much) arrived Wednesday and I'm about a third into it/ Reading it in printed order, and not skipping around. I'm enjoying it, and it is certainly worth every penny. The different worlds are fun,...

Re: Night Nurse !! (reply)
Night Nurse was one of my motivations to get the Women of Marvel Omni ($38!) on sale a few years ago. It's a fun little series with some nice art. I'm glad to see they are making it more accessible via TPB.

Re: Omnibus New Printings ? (reply)
My list is pretty much the same as it's been since 2009. Tomb of Dracula 1 Eternals I can see someday getting the Eternals book on Ebay, as it tends to show up in the low-$100 range. There si no way I'm forking over $250+ for ToD though.

Re: What are you reading?  (reply)
Dove into the Spider-Verse pseudo-Omnibus last night. I took a break from Slott's run immediately before this story, so it is nice to get back into the swing of his run. A very fun story so far based on the first 5 or so issues. I lucked...

My New Gods volume arrived today, and I couldn't be more impressed. A truly gorgeous book with some of my favorite Kirby stories ever. I can definitely see picking up a few more volumes in the months ahead.

Unexpectedly, the Trimpe volume finally resulted in my first Artist Edition purchases. He was never my favorite artist, but I've grown to develop a real love for his work in recent years and am really excited to see his Hulk work in the...

Alias. I was really in love with the series, and loved the idea of the deluxe format containing an entire run of a series. I guess my second was Amazing Fantasy which I got with store credit when I started purging my periodicals. Love...
