He's been saying the same thing for years so, unless he gets a publishing deal somewhere or does a Kickstarter, I figure it'll be a long while especially since he's not a fast artist. Maybe by the 20th or 25th anniversary of XT?

Posts: 1312 Jul 14 12 7:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm sure you all know that in 1994 Topps published a series titled Cadillacs & Dinosaurs that lasted 9 issues, written by Roy Thomas, with art by Esteban Maroto, Dick Giordano and others, covers by William Stout, Sam Kieth... It's not the real deal, obviously, but it seems like a decent enough product as far as this kind of spin-offs-without-the-original-creator goes. My point is, why isn't IDW doing that to subsidize Schultz' work on the finale? They specialize in resurrecting forgotten "properties" that weren't than succesful in the first place, like JURASSIC PARK, MARS ATTACKS! (both originally from Topps, curiously), or KISS, THE CROW, MAGIC: TG, GODZILLA... Seems to me that a new Cadillacs & Dinosaurs book, withouth Schultz, would be the perfect way to bring back the series and make some money for him while he works on the continuation of the original XENOZOIC TALES. A win-win situation for both IDW and the creator.

A spokesperson for the official MARK SCHULTZ facebook page has posted some explanations, including the fact that "Mark is at this point undecided about what format the new Xenozoic story will take. The truth is, the Xenozoic story he will be working on after concluding Storms at Sea will be a stand-alone. One of the reasons for that is to create an easy entry point into the Xenozoic world for new readers. More importantly, he is excited about the particular story he has in mind, which will showcase Jack and Hannah's uneasy relationship, as well as giant bees. If that stand alone story comes out well, then he hopes to get back to that vexing unfinished storyline... Also, Mark is at this point undecided about what format the new Xenozoic story will take. He is considering both illustrated prose ( as is Storms at Sea) and comics as options. But, at this time, the decision is still up in the air. Plus, Schultz is working on new stories as well. I'm satisfied with the trade version. I plan to bind my original floppies later.
