Let's hope he goes out with a bang!) GREEN LANTERN #7 (I didn't have a problem with Choi's guest stint last month, but I'm glad Doug Mahnke is back. Nobody does Sinestro like he does! Too bad Jordan gets his ring charged again. Sigh) THE SHADE #6 (So far, no missteps. This is the James Robinson I remember!) NORTHLANDERS #49 (One month to go... ) SAUCER COUNTRY #1 (Both DEMON KNIGHTS and STORMWATCH have soured me on Cornell, but I'll give this a (very brief) shot) UNWRITTEN #35 (Depending what happens here, this could actually be a nice jumping-off point) MARVEL AVENGERS #24 (The Osborn story ends here. Might be worth it just for that) CAPTAIN AMERICA #9 (As soon as this arc ends, I'm done. FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF SHADE #7 RESURRECTION MAN #7 NORTHLANDERS #49. One left. Hope it's a better ending than DMZ. SAUCER COUNTRY #1. The previews didn't wow me but I'll give it a look as a new Vertigo ongoing. Like Kobe, I wasn't impressed with Cornell's DEMON KNIGHTS or STORMWATCH (dropped pretty quickly off my pull list) SHADE #6 UNWRITTEN #35. Didn't realize this was double-sized and $4.99. ACTIVITY #4 ADVENTURE TIME #2. Not sure why #1 is so "hot" on the back issue market. BLUE ESTATE #10 GLORY #24 PETER PANZERFAUST #2. #1 didn't wow me so not sure if I want to continue with this. SAGA #1. Looking forward to this. BKV and Staples on a sci-fi epic should be great. THIEF OF THIEVES #2. Like PP, I thought #1 was alright so I might give it a couple more issues. SUPER HEROES #24 MEGA MAN #11 MOUSE GUARD BLACK AXE #4 SECRET HISTORY OF DB COOPER #1. Looks interesting. SIMPSONS COMICS #188 WASTELAND #35 My plan to floppywait most of the nuDC is working as I just picked up runs (up to #6) of many of the titles that I had either dropped or skipped altogether for less than 1/2 off like Justice League, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Batman & Robin and Batgirl. Bagged & boarded too!

I liked Ex Machina, I've never read Y, and my only exposure to Fiona Staples was that wonderful issue of Jonah Hex. So I tried it. What a wonderful book. Great characters, great illustrations, snappy dialouge. And although there are scenes and language that aren't for everyone, the language and scenes didn't seem trite or forced to 'jazz it up'. What a great comic book.

Gary Gianni is a Chicago guy, and I've been able to meet him at several Chicago area cons, so I thought about waiting and buying it directly from him at C2E2 in a couple weeks. But then I thought - what if he doesn't have any, better get it now and take it for him to sign. So I'm doing that. He's always been gracious and I've gotten quite a few things signed from him. I first met him at my local LCS, where they had him come in for a signing. A low turnout, unfortunately, but he had a couple of his original paintings from his Conan books. They were incredible to see in person, especially this one: I recommend: Vertigo - Fables, Fairest, Unwritten; DCnU - Action, All Star Western, Animal Man, Batman, Batman & Robin, Batman Inc, Batwoman, Earth 2, Flash, Justice League Dark, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman; Before Watchmen - All

Posts: 8818 Mar 21 12 6:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	FRANKENSTEIN #7 -- Possibly my favorite issue to date as Frankenstein and the Creature Commandos deal with multiple threats that have comprised SHADE headquarters. Lots of action, more clever one-liners (this time from Lady Frankenstein), Ray Palmer in action for the first time (!), and a great cliffhanger. Hate to see Lemire leave as he's really hit his stride with this book, but also have high hopes for Matt Kindt (fingers crossed). DEMON KNIGHTS #7 -- Well, the good news is that it's finally over (at least for me). Unfortunately, we could have had this issue as #2 and #3 instead of dragging out the inevitable for seven months. At the very least, Cornell revisits the Father Theod sub-plot from the early issues that didn't make a lot of sense at the time, but it's hard to believe that this was what we were building towards. C'est la vie. RESURRECTION MAN #7 -- I'm guessing sales have caused this book to pivot somewhat as it's moved away from the earlier more surreal storyline of the first handful of issues and onto more straight-forward fare with its Gotham tie-in last issue and now a Metropolis tie-in this issue (not to mention an upcoming crossover with Suicide Squad). Kind of a shame, as I liked the bits with the Body Doubles and the Transhuman a lot more (the Angel stuff not so much). Will probably tradewait going forward. MY GREATEST ADVENTURE #6 -- Overall, I thought the Robotman strip mostly succeeded in updating the character by bringing him more in-line with today's technology and re-adding some welcome character depth. The continuity, on the other hand, raised more questions than it answered, although it was good to see The Chief (The Captain?) again. The Garbage Man (too cliched) and Tanga (too pretentious) strips really didn't do anything for me, though, although the art was OK enough. Last Edited By: fubarthepanda Mar 22 12 1:13 PM.
