In no real order... • Watchmen • The Dark Knight Returns • Alex Toth's Bravo for Adventure, plus his "the case of the curious classic, his 2 EC stories • Ditko's Spider-Man • Wally Wood's run on the Spirit • anything by Harvey Kurtzman • Krigstein EC work • Jimmy Corrigan by Chris Ware

Bernie Wrightson - anything really. Full stories, orphaned pages, whatever. I would buy 4. 1 for reading and ogling, 1 to cut up for framing pages as "fake" original art, and 2 to resell to make my money back from the other 2. 2. Al Williamson - Anything up to and including his daily runs on Star Wars and X-9. 3. Charles Schulz - I would love to see large scans of original Peanuts artwork in an oversize collection. 4. Anything involving any original art from DC's bronze age horror/mystery books. Unexpected, House of Mystery, Ghosts, etc... 5. Bernie Wrightson part 2. A full Swamp Thing book would be killer. 6. Steve Ditko Spidey. 7. John Byrne X-men and last, but certainly not least... 8. Mike Ploog - Planet of the Apes, Werewolf by Night, Frankenstein... KNEEL BEFORE YOUR NEW SLEESTAK MASTERS.

That, and his FLYING MACHINE, THE KEY and PIPE DREAMS pages would be outstanding. I'd also like to see a volume of Jim Steranko's work, notably DARK MOON RISE, HELL HOUND KILL from SHIELD #3. And, I second the nomination of Alex Toth's CASE OF THE CURIOUS CLASSIC from HOT WHEELS #5.

I also realize that some of these would probably be impossible to assemble. But hey, let's send this whole thread to IDW...

I'd also love to see Simonson's Manhunter in this format. And how about a Hal Foster Prince Valiant Artist's Edition? For some reason, I sold my copy years ago, but recently purchased a replacement. I also have the two reprints publihed by DC: An Artist's Edition would be a nice addition to the collection, but I'm not too optimistic that we'll ever see one. Lately, I've had Roy Thomas come in, and he sits and makes notes while we discuss it. Then he types them up which gives us a written synopsis. Originally-I have a little tape recorder-I had tried taping it, but then I found no one on staff has time to listen to the tape again later. But this way he makes notes, types it quickly, I get a carbon, the artist gets a carbon...so we don't have to worry that we'll forget what we've said. Then the artist goes home...or wherever he goes...and he draws the thing out, brings it back, and I put the copy in after he's drawn the story based on the plot I've given him. Now this varies with the different artists. Some artists, of course, need a more detailed plot than others. Some artists, such as Jack Kirby, need no plot at all. I mean I'll just say to Jack, 'Let's make the next villain be Dr. Doom'... or I may not even say that. He may tell me. And then he goes home and does it. He's good at plots. I'm sure he's a thousand times better than I. He just about makes up the plots for these stories. All I do is a little editing... I may tell him he's gone too far in one direction or another. Of course, occasionally I'll give him a plot, but we're practically both the writers on the things. "

Everyone will truly be sporting a Woody over that one!!! Of course a Kurtzman/Elder Little Annie Fanny volume just might do the same, and that could be truly spectacular especially in comparison with the Dark Horse volumes, which do leave a lot to be desired!!!!
