Any other issues you need from that series besides those 7?

Eh, maybe a few after #5, but nothing too deep into 1995. Why? You have, ahem, a few spares?

Anybody know what issues are in this trade:

Splash Too wrote: Oops, I forgot to mention that from last year up to this year, at various times, I managed to read some Witchblade TPBs as well, so that too is part of my Image Comics readings in recent times. Old TPB editions: Witchblade: Origins (#1 - #8) Witchblade Vol. 2: Revelations (#9-19, The Darkness Vol. 1 #9-10) Witchblade/Darkness: Family Ties (Witchblade #18 & #19 and Darkness Vol. 1 #9 & #10) Witchblade Vol. 3: Prevailing (#20 - #25) Witchblade Vol. 7: Blood Relations (#54 - #58) Witchblade Vol. 11 (#86-#92) Witchblade: Distinctions (collects Tales of the Witchblade #1 - #6) Witchblade: Obakemono (an original graphic novel about a Witchblade wielder in feudal Japan) New editions TPB line re-started in 2008, collecting writer Ron Marz' run: Witchblade Volume 1 (#80 - #85) In the case of Witchblade/Darkness: Family Ties TPB, I had this book before I ended up getting the new version of Witchblade Vol. 2: Revelations from 2005, which of course collected Witchblade #18 & #19 and Darkness Vol. 1 #9 & #10 included again (Witchblade: Revelations had an earlier edition that only collected Witchblade #9-17 in 2000). Like what MacFarlane Productions has done with the Spawn TPB library, Top Cow decided to redo the Witchblade TPBs again, collecting the early years stories under the Witchblade Origins TPBs, plus going mega volumes with Witchblade Compendiums (collecting 50 issues worth) with two volumes released I think already. Plus, since 2008, writer Ron Marz' run is just under the Witchblade name only, with 5 or 6 volumes into this line already (his first year was under Witchblade Volumes 10 and 11 of the old TPB line before the redo). Top Cow never did run the old Witchblade TPB line properly at all back then. Very shoddy job prior to their 2008 redo of the Witchblade collected editions library, as their were never any other volumes between volumes 3 through 7, and there was never volumes 8 and 9 either (they just jump to Volume 10 when they first reprinted Ron Marz opening arc?).

I'm really considering having some of my Image stuff bound. As soon as I fill in some of these blasted holes, and figure out just exactly -how- to bind
things. I'll probably start with Extreme stuff, I just need to decide whether I'll collect all the Extreme stuff in one line, or split it up by title.
I was thinking of doing my first volume as Youngblood 1-3, 0, 4-5, Battlezone 1, Strikefile 1-3, the Yearbook, and as soon as I get my hands on them, Art of
Extreme 1 and Image 0. Also, the second-printing Gold-frame cover to Youngblood 1 as an extra. Maybe another volume collecting Brigade and Bloodstrike, another
collecting Supreme. But that's a ways off. First I need to fill in a few holes (Extreme 1, Image 0, Brigade II 1, Supreme 2), and also hunt down variant
covers/editions, and other copies of things like Brigade 2, which my copy is devoid of the trading cards/Image 0 coupon. Also I might get a second copy of
Younblood 0 to fit into the Brigade book. Things like that. I'll start with Extreme for 3 reasons; 1) Youngblood 1 kicked off Image, and 2) I have the
least amount of holes so far, I think, and 3) Extreme not only had the most comics, but was also like it's own mini-universe within the Image U, sorta like
the X-Universe in Marvel, so the titles gel together quite well.

comix750 wrote:I have the original Youngblood miniseries, Brigade miniseries, two issues of Supreme in the number 40s during Alan Moore's run as writer (I later ended up buying the entire run as the Supreme: The Story of the Year and Supreme: The Return TPBs that were released by Checker Book Publishing Group). Oh, the Extreme Sacrifice TPB too, which I thought was typical Liefeld studio published material (everyone's getting killed off by Crypt, hello...). I ended up buying some other Liefeld studio produced stuff, like the Glory TPB, Warchild TPB, the various Battlestar Galactica comic books and Avengelyne comics as well from Liefeld's Maximum Press imprint. I recently bought a back issue from Liefeld's short-lived comic book publisher company Awesome Entertainment, Re:Gex # 0 in a bargain bin. I also have the TPB volume of the Awesome crossover event, Judgment Day, again written by Alan Moore, and reprinted by Checker Book Publishing Group. I also have Youngblood issues # and 2 (again scripted by Alan Moore) that Awesome published before they went out of business. This Youngblood series had something going, too bad it ended abruptly though. Overall, I thought the original Youngblood miniseries was pretty bad, and I hated the fact that issue #5 was published as a flipbook within the Brigade miniseries issue # 4. That was just stupid at the time, and Liefeld didn't even draw that little conclusion of the Youngblood miniseries either! What a cop out! Brigade didn't seem that great either. The Alan Moore written stuff was pretty good, and I think Liefeld deserves some credit for having someone like Moore come in and just do a massive over haul to his universe of characters back then. At least it gave Liefeld some more respectablity somewhat, but not by much I guess, and trying to give his creations a second life I suppose. I might be forgetting what else I might have of Liefeld's Extreme/Maxumum Press/Awesome stuff...hmm...still I might try getting more back issues one day and buy more Extreme stuff. |

Splash Too wrote:Awesome wasn't bad. Liefeld hooked up with Loeb to start up a lot of new projects. One was recycling his Heroes Reborn Captain America into Fighting American. Liefeld's stuff wasn't great but Ed McGuinness did a Fighting American mini. There was also Kaboom! by Jeff Matsuda. Ian Churchill did Coven. Aside from Supreme, Moore also did the short-lived Youngblood and Glory preview. It's a shame that these last 3 Moore projects were never completed. |

You know who I'd like to see work with the Extreme Universe? Warren Ellis and Alex Maleev. For some reason picturing them revamping Youngblood etc just
sounds (heh) awesome

Does anyone know where I could find a database/checklist of all the Image/Marvel crossovers, like Pitt/Hulk, Prophet/Cable, etc? That would be really handy,
thanks.

dc newton wrote:Per Amazon, it was released November 97. The D'rahn made their first appearance in Backlash 28 and continued on into Wildcore. Since Wildcore #1 was also released that same month, my guess (I don't have the trade) is that it collects 28-32 (give or take an issue). Are the following Image trades still in print:As others have mentioned, they're OOP. Probably cheaper to get the floppies. There were rumors of an Absolute Lee WildCATS a while back, but it never came to fruition. |

Rob Liefeld on Dennis Miller when he was 24! Wow, I had forgotten he was so young when they formed image...he was only 3 or 4 years older than me at the time.
