I collect hardback reprints and only hardback reprints (Masterworks, Omnibus and Archives). I occasionally check out an Essential. I gave up my
"real" comic collection some time back, and really have no interest in "collecting" comics anymore. Too expensive and the hobby has gotten
way out of control (for us folks who make modest incomes, anyway). Seems to be more about collecting and less about the product itself (the art, the writing,
etc.).

I collect lots of different things, but as far as comics go, i have about 4,000 but havent bought a new comic since 1997. I might get some here or there on
ebay. Other than that it's Masterworks, Essentials, TP's, Statue/Busts, or any cool kind of merchandise- like old 7-11 glasses, etc...

I collect hardbacks & tpb, but stopped buying comics around 1995. I still have around 15 long boxes that get moved around (my wife is no longer really
listening to my argument that they are for when my 20 month old gets older...). I have no statues/figures/navel decorations or any other types of comic-related
collectables.

No statues, toys, etc. The one exception is my Bat-Mite doll. It was too damn cute.

As far as comics and comics related memorabilia go, I only own actual comics, tpbs, and hc's. I'm not into the toys and what not either.

Stopped buying comics about 10 years ago. Have always purchased and preferred HCs and TPBs. Just filled up my bookcase with some recent purchases, so I need to
get another. I like to have them on display and easy to look thru. Try to get pics of that up sometime. All my statues hit eBay at a low income point (someday
hope to get those original Bowen Hellboy and Punisher statues back). Haven't bought any since. Never did did toys, but had a couple. Still have a couple
toys and statues boxed up which will hit eBay someday when I have time.

Well, not unless you count the feature film DVD's of the X-Men, FF, Hulk etc. I only keep Masterworks, EC/DC Archives, and Omnibuses and other hardcover projects like the Charlie Brown series. I do have a bust of Ludwig van Beethoven though.

I have only one comics related toy, a Dr Doom action figure that a friend gave me as a present some years ago. I don't have any comics related statues. I
do have some Dr Who related figures, a Dalek and the new Airfix Tardis, Tenth Doctor and Martha set (which I haven't yet built), but I regard those as TV
spin-offs rather than comics ones.

Really, just Archives, Masterworks, TPBs & some other HC comic reprints.
Two action figures, two character drinking glasses, two lunch boxes, but that's it. I sold almost all my comics this past year except for a short box of "oddball" comics (promo, foreign language, anti-drug, plain ol' weird, etc). Otherwise, I collect vintage video games when I see them cheap at places like flea markets. |

My only toys/statues, etc. are JSA-related, so I can't claim pure status, but the other stuff is strictly within limits and under control.
I thought I told you to shut up.

In addition to SA and Atlas Masterworks, Omnibi, a few Absolutes and various HC's and TPB's I have:
- Most of the Bowen Designs small scale Marvel statues (only missing Daredevil, the FF and Dr Doom) - DC Direct Busts of Supes, Bats, WW, GL, Flash, Manhunter and Hawkman/Atom - Full size Bowen Designs Thor and Cap -- they look awesome on my dresser and I'm waiting for them to do a classic Iron Man to complete the set - 6 Toon Tumblers glasses (so far) And yes, I do still buy and read monthly comics...mostly DC with a handful of Marvels. When I get too many to store, I usually package them as full runs on EBay to recoup and offset some of the costs so I can keep reading monthlies. It works pretty well. I only buy to read, though, not to collect. Therefore, I buy based mostly on writers and artists. |
